Background

The track was written and produced by Peter Ibsen and Lana Del Rey in March 2011, prior to Del Rey getting her major label record deal. In the same sessions, Ibsen and Del Rey recorded "Paradise" and the second demo of "This is What Makes Us Girls".

Live performances

Del Rey performed this song on the first date of of the Endless Summer Tour alongside the other unreleased songs "Us Against the World" and "You Can Be the Boss".

Del Rey performed this song live at the Orange Warsaw Festival in Warsaw, Poland, the Rockwave Festival in Athens, Greece, and Osheaga in Montreal, Canada.
