Del Rey tweeted the link to a YouTube video titled "Just put your lips together and BLOW..."[1] on one of her early Twitter accounts. This is presumed to be the inspiration for the song, alongside the quote from the 1944 film To Have and Have Not: "You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and blow."
An alternate version of the song leaked on September 23, 2019, which contained minor lyrical and vocal differences. The original file of this version, which revealed it was done in 2010, leaked on December 23, 2023.
