"On Our Way" (also known as "Heavier Than Heaven") is an unreleased song by Lana Del Rey. It was recorded on February 6, 2010, and leaked on November 6, 2011. A demo of the song leaked on September 30, 2012.
Background[]
"On Our Way" was the first collaboration between Del Rey and Justin Parker.[1] Del Rey uploaded the song to her now-defunct SoundCloud profile on March 22, 2010, alongside "Hundred Dollar Bill", "Velvet Crowbar", "Us Against the World", "Kinda Outta Luck" and "You Can Be the Boss".[2]
The song was reportedly part of a list of songs labelled as "b-sides" to Born to Die, which were heavily considered for release. Other songs include "TV in Black & White", "Marilyn Monroe", and "Velvet Crowbar".[S 1]
On July 27, 2017, Del Rey stated that she would like to include the track if she released an album of her favorite unreleased songs.
On December 23, 2023, the original file of the song leaked in .wav format.

Background and description[]
Del Rey created her own homemade music video for the song in 2010 and posted it to her "UhaulJoe" YouTube channel on April 13, 2010. Like most of her earlier music videos, it features clips of Del Rey singing along to the song and clips she gathered from miscellaneous films and videos.
There is also a different version of the music video that features the same scenes of Del Rey but different shots. However, only a one-minute clip of this video is available online and a full version remains unleaked.
In an interview with Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson, co-writer Justin Parker stated that Del Rey once played him a video for "On Our Way", which supposedly used the same footage as the music video for "Video Games".[3]

Lyrics[]
Final version[]
You, ooh-ooh-ooh
You light my red fire, babe, hot white and blue
And I, I think that you
I think you're so cool, babe, lovin' everything you do
You say we're gonna run away
Put on your sundress, summer day
Flyin' around on the highway
Spin me 'round, kiss me in your Chevrolet
I love you more with each and every day
Top down, gonna make a getaway, top down
Spin me 'round, kiss me in your Chevrolet
You found me when I had lost my way
Foot down, we're going all the way, touchdown
You know what I want
Take me to the K-Mart, pick me up pink lip gloss
How you get so hot?
You're makin' me crazy, hopin' you'll never stop
You say that we were meant to be
We'll be together finally
Flyin' around and I'm finally free, ooh
Spin me 'round, kiss me in your Chevrolet
I love you more with each and every day
Top down, finally gonna get away, top down
Spin me 'round, kiss me in your Chevrolet
You found me when I had lost my way
Foot down, now we're goin' all the way, touchdown
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
Why do I think too much?
You tell me not to worry, because you're the boss
And you, you got a real good plan
My trouble's all over now, because you're my man
You don't know what you done to me
You're heavier than heavenly
Life on the run has set me free, me free now
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
We're on our way
