Eunice Kathleen Waymon, known professionally as Nina Simone, was an American singer-songwriter, pianist, and civil rights activist. Lana Del Rey covered Simone's song "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", which is featured on her third major-label studio album Honeymoon. She was the one who popularized Sarah Vaughan's song "The Other Woman", which Del Rey ended up covering for her second major-label studio album Ultraviolence.
