The song went viral on TikTok in the summer of 2021, with one particular "sound" featuring the pre-chorus sparking the creation of over 400,000 individual videos.
Live performance[]
Del Rey soundchecked the song before her week one performance at Coachella in Indio, California, on April 11, 2024. The next evening, she would arrive to the stage by motorcycle to a mashup of Kehlani's "Gangsta" and a SICKICK remix titled "Gangsta Paradise / Baby I'm A Gangster Too TikTok Remix", which remixed this song and Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise".
