"Cherry Blossom" is an unreleased song by Lana Del Rey. It was produced in 2013 and leaked on May 1, 2019. The producer of the song is unknown as it is not registered on BMI, ASCAP, or any other service.
The song was recorded in 2013 and three takes were done. It comes from the same session as "Color Blue".
On June 18, 2016, Del Rey posted a video of herself singing an a cappella snippet of the song on Instagram. She captioned the post saying: "It’s so hot out today and all the birds are singing. I was reminded of a lullaby I wrote years ago called Cherry Blossom".
The version that is popularly known as the studio version is a remix made by the DJ Kristijan Majic using the vocals from the snippet.
On May 1, 2019, a snippet of the final version was leaked on a video via Instagram, but it was quickly deleted. The full version leaked minutes later on a Tumblr account. It is the third version and it features some different lyrics than the a cappella posted by Del Rey. The instrumental leaked on May 4, 2019.
The phrase "tall, tan" also appears in "American".
