"Be My Daddy" is an unreleased song by Lana Del Rey. It was recorded on July 16, 2010 and produced by John Frederick Fortis. The song is registered to the Harry Fox Agency.^[1]

Background and inspiration

Inspiration for the theme of the song came from Del Rey's necklace that said "Daddy's Girl", which she was wearing at the time of the songs creation. There were many voice notes, melodies and ideas which were recorded during the sessions. Some of these are called "Pussycat Kittycat" and "Daddy's Girl".

Two snippets of a rough version leaked on August 15, 2016, alongside a snippet of stems from the track. Another snippet of the final version leaked on August 16, 2016, and a full but slightly edited version leaked on December 25, 2016. A vocal take under the title "Daddy's Girl" leaked on April 17, 2018. A concept demo titled "Pussycat Kittycat" leaked on August 29, 2018. The original file of the concept demo is called "Pussycat_Kittycat Idea w BT 1.1".

References to "daddy" can be found in many of Del Rey's songs, such as "Daddy Issues", "Put Me in a Movie" and "Ride".
A verse is later reused in "Ridin'".
The verses have a similar melody to "In the Sun".
