Background

The song may have been created with Luke Laird, as his wife and business partner Beth Mason Laird shared to her Instagram a photo of Del Rey performing the song during its debut at Stagecoach Festival. The caption read "from Nashville to @stagecoach @honeymoon @lukerobert".

During her performance in Glasgow, Scotland on June 26, 2025, Del Rey mentioned that the song is "coming out in a couple of months".

Live performances

Del Rey premiered the song at her April 25, 2025, performance at Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California as part of the 2025 Tour. It has since been performed on every stop of the tour thus far. At the Stagecoach show, Del Rey interjected before the start of the bridge: "This is the last time I'm ever gonna say this line", referring to the lyric about controversial country music singer Morgan Wallen. She hasn't performed the line since.

At the Wembley Stadium shows in London, England, on July 3 and 4, Del Rey performed the song with show opener Addison Rae.
